Six Latvian projects have been submitted to the LIFE call of proposals of 2016

Application for co-funding of the European Commission for implementation of environmental and climate change improvements was concluded in September, this year. From Latvia, six projects for the total amount of 13.6 million euro have been applied for support of the LIFE programme.

Applicants are planning to implement projects that model the impact of climate change on infrastructure, promote reduction of greenhouse gases, research processing of textile waste, create a pilot project of a full-cycle bio-reactor, as well as relate to other innovations, which are significant for the environment and climate.

Evaluation of the projects and allocation of co-funding of the European Commission will be provided within the following six months.

For comparison — in 2015, 14 project proposals from Latvia were submitted for the LIFE co-funding of the European Commission, and only one of these proposals succeeded.
