Natural grassland significantly improves people’s quality of life, by providing different benefits – ecosystem services of which we often even don’t think every day. From the early 20th century to the present day, natural grassland areas have significantly decreased in Latvia, by overgrowing with forests or by turning into arable lands. The project experts and scientists from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are developing economically viable models of grassland management to promote the conservation of grasslands.
