This training area is an intensively used training territory for the National Armed Forces and the allied forces, where military trainings have been held for nearly 100 years. At the same time, unique nature values — European roller, black grouse, European nightjar, natterjack (running toad), spreading Pasqueflower, as well as many other species, which are rare across the Europe and for the preservation of which the protected landscape area “Ādaži” has been established — can be found in the fields of heath and sand, in clean lakes and old forests.
The film tells about the Youth Guards from Garkalne, who, under the leadership of Ziedonis Ločmelis, a hardened soldier, acquaint themselves with the nature values of “Ādaži” and conservation thereof, building of environment-friendly trenches and collection of masking materials, moving across the territory, action in case of leak or chemical accident, waste sorting, and saving of electricity and water resources in everyday life. The film features introductory words by Raimonds Bergmanis, Minister for Defence.
The 30-minute film is addressed to the soldiers, who stay and participate in military training at Ādaži training area.
