The total area of the project &#8211; 18070 ha of which only 6 % were originally protected. The objective was to assign a status of an area of protected landscapes and to include it in the network of special areas of conservation of the EU &#8211; Natura 2000. The natural values of the project area are mainly threatened by intensification of the use of forest resources and insufficient management of the traditional meadows (mowing and grazing).
