\n\tThe project will introduce an innovative approach to the protection of natural values, balancing nature conservation with the social and economic aspects. The project will provide knowledge that can be used in development planning of different regions of the Latvia’s coastal area. This innovative approach will be developed according to the best practices in the EU through various economic indicators of the environment (including the economic assessment of ecosystem services). The whole project will help improve the practice of development planning of Latvia’s coastal areas and other planning documents. Within the project, two pilot areas are selected – Saukrasti and Jaun\u0137emeri where the assessment of ecosystem services and the development of scenarios for the area development will be carried out.<\/p>\n
